Newport has a lot of house per dollar and a lot of it is old, which we like, because old houses are honest about what has been done to them. What we run into most here is layers: a roof that has been gone over twice already, siding put on top of the original clapboard, and windows swapped in the seventies with no flashing worth the name. None of that is a disaster, it just means the first thing we do is find out what is actually under there before quoting, so the price you get is the price for the job that is really in front of us.
