Newbury

Newbury sits at the south end of the lake and up against Mount Sunapee, and the weather there is genuinely harder than a few miles away. Snow load is the thing we talk about most: houses on the higher ground hold snow longer, and if the attic is not venting properly that snow melts from underneath, runs down and freezes at the cold eave, which is exactly how an ice dam forms. A lot of what we end up doing in Newbury is fixing ventilation at the same time as the roof, because a new roof over a hot attic ices up the same way the old one did.
